No Need for a title.... just read it... u will love it...

DISCLAIMER:

The characters in the following story are very real, any sort of resemblance to any person living or dead is intentional, and I am not sorry for that :) :).

Just joking. But this one is absolute fun. I hope everyone enjoys it and please do leave your comments on this one because it is something each one of us will have an opinion on. This is how it goes…..

He was a very quiet, reticent, simple, introvert and what many girls would call a “sweet” kid of guy. He was very down to earth but as they say that a man is known by the company he keeps, many people thought he had the same arrogance that his close colleagues had. But it was not so and people who knew him even a little could tell u that he was not as arrogant and self pampering as his peers were.

She on the other hand was very outgoing, cheerful, sweet, straightforward, determined and was on very good terms with almost everyone at her workplace. It was very easy to envy her but there was hardly any person who hated her. It was just impossible to hate her. She was such a lovable girl who was in love with him.

“In love” is a very strong term and I don’t use it that easily, but this is one such case. She was not that a great friend of his and they hardly used to talk with each other. They were just working at the same company. But still she fell for him. There was something in him that attracted her. Actually many thing appealed her. It could be his simplicity, sophistication, occasional expressions on his face, which said “I’m lost”, his general expression of being as cool as cucumber or his provogue shirts!! It could be anything and everything. Her beautiful black eyes would tell it all….. only if u knew that she liked him, otherwise she was very good at hiding her feelings.

The funny or the tragic, whatever call it, part of was that he has a slight idea that she liked him. He had acquired this information form the grapevine communication system of their office. She never told her side to him. He got to know only half of the things and so he was never aware of the genuineness of her feelings. As he knew, only half of the real thing, there always existed a thin line of awkwardness between the two of them and at times, he did show signs that he knew about her feelings. But still he never knew her true feelings!!

FUNNY OR TRAGIC…… u guys decide.

Then she changed her job and now she was working as a HR manager in an MNC. She still hadn’t had her PF cleared from her old job. And surprisingly, he was the one who was in charge of these accounts. Therefore, when her cheque would be ready, he would have to call her or give her that cheque. She was aware of this fact and she expected him to call her or meet her. She had rehearsed what she would say to him, when he would call, at least 14 times!! One day when she was having her dinner, her phone suddenly screamed to life shouting out the Savage Garden number “truly madly deeply” and she saw an unknown number. But, that number was not that unfamiliar to her. She knew that number by heart and talking about heart, she realized that her’s was beating unnaturally faster J

Now lets jump back 5 minutes in time and I will tell you what he was thinking. His mind had struggle of his own. “should I call her or meet her in person… no! Meeting in person would attract unnecessary attention.. I will call her. But then there will be a bit of awkwardness.. shit mann this is crazy.. Fuck it!! I will rather call her..”

So he called her. Seeing his number on her screen, somewhere her ego was satisfied that he had to call her first…. Girls I tell u!!! so when she took the call this is what happened.

HE: hey hi!! This is ABC here.

SHE: (Of course, I know that. I’d been expecting your call) Oh hii!!

HE: err… I just wanted to let you know that your PF cheque is ready and ummmm u have to collect it before 7th of next month.

SHE: ( god u sound soo  sweet!!) ummmm okk so where should I meet you? Office or somewhere else?

(At this point, both of them felt their mouths go dry)

HE: aaaaa….. ( what to do… if she turns up in the office m y group will tease me to death even though her reasons for coming will be genuine… where to meet…. Shitt!!! I hate to do this ) ummm can  u meet me somewhere outside.

SHE: (haaaaaaaaaaaa!!!) ummmm .. ok … where?

HE: aaa…. How about CCD? ( I hate myself) tomorrow 7pm ok?

SHE: ya sure .. bye  cya then..

HE: ya bye.

And so, after 2 mins 39 seconds, they hung up. Have a look at the irony of the situation. He had to call her to to ask if she would come to CCD .. lol :) ( though in an entirely different context). She did realize this fact and it made her smile. They say that, “a lot can happen over a cup of coffee”, and she surely hoped this saying came true.

It happens so many times with us. When we meet that very special person, we suddenly start trembling a bit, our mouths go dry, we feel like the tyre or a balloon, which is being deflated suddenly; our entire behaviour becomes similar to that of iron ,when magneto passes by ; and many such analogies are possible. If at we get a chance to speak with that person on phone, then the moment we hear the voice our dil goes hmmmmmmmmm :)

These kinds of things are magical and they need to be experienced to know them the best. I have tried my best to put them in words and I hope the readers have understood what I am trying to say. However, one question still prevails….

As the character “she” in the above story many of us have same feelings that she had. We sometimes genuinely like a person dearly, we care for him/her as we do care for our loved ones, we may not know that person inside out but still we have all these genuine feelings and immense liking for him/her…… so what is it? What can u call it?

Is it what we call true love? Or is it a seriously major crush? Or something else?

Please enlighten me.

I am waiting………

Arrey cool story re...
I bet many people relate to it..

A girl(in MOST cases..but not all) will NEVER admit her true feelings first...If the guy admits she will THINK over it OR not bother AT ALL...

Girl khuuup rarely initiate karte...
Sooo what the girl was going through is completely justified...
Guy's feelings are also justified coz he doesn't wanna create a bad first impression nor does he want to embarrass her...

Good story!

thank you aditi... but u still didnt answer the question... but its ok

Ameya H Vaidya said...

i think it was the four letter word starting with 'l' and ending with 'e'.....
maybe it was more of a case of LIKE progressing to LOVE

Ameya H Vaidya said...

well my experience says Girls will rarely take take the initiative...may be it is nature...but hey the boy's thoughts were justified...i mean even the boys may be shy....right?

And the most important part...

I think these characters are just placebos.....

I think the story and emotions are a bit closely related to the author here :P

What say u?

itz so real dude!!!!...i cud sumhw c myself in dat story...
dis cnt be a crush cuz it aint lust....itz sumthin lying on d wafer-thin line between love n liking!!!!
PS:read dis blog while listenin 2 "khabar nahi" from dostana...really gets u in dat mood!!!!

Advait said...

waah waaaah nice nice comments..... very aptly said... thin line btw lust and love... thanks everyone for their comments... and no ameya.. the author has nothing nothing to do with the story... its just that author has tried to show normal human emotions

Advait said...

i meant.... thin line between liking and love

pigeonheadophobia said...

i thought that it was a cute story...
However i disagree with most of the comments...
I dont think dat u can associate the words "supershot" for the guy
or...dumb for the girl
i dont know what love is...probably...
i think that love , in the simplest of terms is chemical loccha...u dont know why it happened...u dont know why ur brain reacts in that way...
u dont wanna know anything
u r probably having the time of your life...
u r happy...or confused...or cud be anything....
But when u know that its love...u know that it's special for a reason...many reasons for that matter

Advait said...

thank you very much siddhi..... but its a very filmy definition of love that you gave and in real life it is much much more than all the goody goody things that you mentioned.... but wht u said is the general opinion ... so .... no comments :D
